Marco Rubio

Marco Rubio served in the House of Representatives from 2000-2008. He served as Majority Whip, Majority Leader, and Speaker of the House. Some issues Rubio focused on were lower taxes, better schools, and free open markets with less government power. He was in the House Select Committee on Property Rights and helped create a national legislation protecting private property. Rubio also created “100 Innovative Ideas for Florida’s Future,” which were all passed by the Florida’s House; 57 made it into the law. He has a whole bunch of "# of ways to help " for Florida plans.

Some ideas to reform Florida's EDUCATION:
  • "Create A Universal Education Tax Deduction": Change tax deductions on education into one universal education tax deduction. Taxpayers money will go towards education and other tuition for all students in the primary, secondary, and post-secondary level. To fund for this, redundant education taxes will be eliminated (would totals to $7 billion worth) All in all, this provides tax relief to parents for school supplies, private school, saving $ for college, and home school.
  • "Perform A Regular Review Of Department of Education Programs": Rubio plans to have a 10 year consenus in education so that schools will be getting requirement checks and other points of checkpoints for teachers.

Some ideas to reform Florida's ECONOMY:
  • "Permanently extend 2001-2003 tax cuts"
  • "ObamaCare repeal:" Rubio wants to repeal ObamaCare and make healthcare more transparent by allowing patients more choice and using tax money for more effective health programs.

Charlie Crist

On November 2006, Charlie Crist was elected governor. Since then he has worked for quality education for Florida, a limited government, and improving Florida’s economy and safety. He has passed the Cover Florida Health Care plan (giving universal healthcare to Florida), Anti-Murder Act, and Operation Orange Tree. These laws have helped capture of 75 child predators and 10,000 foster children adoptions. He also served 6 years as Chairman of Appropriations Criminal Justice Subcommittee and sponsored a legislation bill requiring prisoners to serve at least 85% of prison sentences.

Some ideas to reform Florida's EDUCATION:
  • "Providing Opportunity to work": Governor Crist wants to wisely utilized stimulus funding. Under him, over 20,000 teachers' positions and 60,000 other jobs were saved. He plans to create jobs over time with the $100 million in tax credits producing about $364 million community investments.

Here are some standpoints and resolutions from Charlie Crist:

Forecast --> 3 way race!

During mid-September, Rubio had only a +5 lead, but the month of October shows that increased from a +9.8 lead to a +13 point lead, then at the start of elections at a +17 point lead. Both candidates are running with the same ideas to help Florida's crime rate and improving education, but I think that Rubio is more popular just because he puts himself out there more, such as all those laws he got passed in Florida's House.

According to this site, Crist needs to gain some of Rubio's Independent supporters as well as the 5% of undecided voters to stand a chance:

Now, Crist needs to gain the supporters of the Democratic candidate, Meek. If he is able to sway the split voters, Independent and Democratic, of Meek, then he will stand a better chance against Rubio. Because the Tea Party supports Rubio, the majority of Republicans are also voting for him. However, Crist wants to appeal to senior citizens of Florida for votes, saying that Rubio wants to balance their budget "on the backs of seniors" by cutting social security:

This site also proves that Rubio has a huge lead, and the only way for another candidate opposing him to win would be if either Meek or Crist drops out of the race. By doing this, all the isolated votes from the Democratic or Independent party would go towards the remaining candidate. Obama wants to increase votes for Meek, so there are some media coverages of him saying that he "strongly supports" Meek:
